All types of sofas and humans willing to shift from anthropocentrism towards sofacentrism.
Minimum 1h, maximum 26h/three to five days.
Contact dance is one of the best ways to reveal the differences and similarities of the human and sofa bodies and explore how both of them can co-exist in this world. This is done by displacing the human out of the centre of the world and giving space for the sofa to take over.
This workshop is not about learning – sofas are objects and they don’t need to learn. They also don’t feel anything. This workshop will be about simply being and connecting.
The workshop is led by Marija Baranauskaite. This workshop is recommended for couples of one human and one sofa. It can be held both physically and online.
Humans who want to learn how to perform for objects.
Minimum 3h, maximum – never-ending continuous research.
Can humans perform for different types of objects? Not only sofas?
During these sessions, experienced artists from around the world, guide you to find out what your type of object is. In these workshops you learn how to perform for your chosen type of object, despite the fact that the object has no need for your performance. Because of this, the workshop is truly a laboratory for artistic liberation.
Open for professional and not-yet-professional artists.
For humans who are overly human centered and highly critical.
Minimum 1h, optimal 12h, maximum 26h.
Are you one of those thinking that performing for objects is just a naive idea and that nothing real is possible in this field? Then this workshop is for you. It’s not always easy to take things seriously, thus experiencing them through the perspective of playfulness can be radically helpful.
